Te Awanga is a special piece of dirt.

Planted 25 years ago by a group of friends in one of Hawke's Bays oldest wine growing areas, they dreamt of making the region's greatest wines.  We're still working on that, but believe our vineyard by the coast truly captures something unique.

Te Awanga is a range of single estate wines that are rich, mouthfilling and long-lived.

Winemaker - Rod McDonald awarded NZ winemaker of the year in 2006.

The wine is ripe and nicely perfumed, displaying white peach, pear and floral characters.  The palate shows a touch of sweetness and a pleasantly long finish. 

This is a classic, generous Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay – kicking off with aromas of grilled grapefruit, vanilla and hazelnut, following with a rich palate of citrus and bright acidity and toasty oak complexity.

Our reserve Te Awanga Chardonnay is a typical coastal chardy with citrus and stone-fruit aromas combined with a lovely biscotti and spice complexity, whilst being fleshy and textural with a little minerality on the palate

Classic white pepper, thyme and violet aromas lead into a palate that is elegant and pure. Plum and blueberry flavours give way to savoury characters.

Rich and crimson in colour, this wine displays aromas of black cherry, cassis and cigar box. The palate is full, rich and soft with flavours of plum and cedar. It is a wine of excellent balance and structure.
